How it works

  1. Step 1: Choose your electricity company

    Select the distribution company (DisCo) that supplies your meter.

  2. Step 2: Enter your meter number

    The app verifies the meter and shows the account name so you can check it is yours.

  3. Step 3: Enter the amount

    The minimum is ₦100.

  4. Step 4: Confirm with your PIN

    Your token appears on the receipt.

What you need

  • A prepaid meter number. Postpaid meters are not supported.
  • An Ayamaz account and a wallet balance that covers the amount.
  • Your 4-digit transaction PIN.

After you confirm

  1. The amount is reserved in your wallet while the electricity company confirms the token.
  2. When the purchase succeeds, your token is shown on the receipt screen. Copy or save it before you leave the screen.
  3. You can find the receipt again in your transaction history.

If a purchase is pending or fails

If the provider confirms a failure, the amount goes back to your wallet automatically. If a purchase is pending, wait for the notification before buying again, so you do not buy twice. If you did not receive a token for a successful purchase, report it with the reference.

Questions about electricity

Can I pay for a postpaid meter?

Not at the moment. Ayamaz supports prepaid meter tokens. A postpaid meter will fail verification.

Which electricity companies are supported?

The app lists the companies that are available when you open the service. The list can change when a provider changes.

I entered the wrong meter number. Can I get the token back?

Tokens delivered to the meter number you entered generally cannot be refunded. That is why the app shows the account name before you pay.
